This blog has never been focused, literate, thought-out, or widely read. Because of all of this I have more often than not though of blogging as a chore. Maybe in the beginning heady days, or after the many long hiatuses (like this?), maybe then it was exciting. Anyhow, I am considering diving back in with [...]
I have been posting to this blog on and off since February 2002. I had another blog that was pretty much the same idea as this one before, but it was hosted and I lost all the posts. I started that one in the fateful days after September 11 2001. Before that I had a [...]
Textmate is reason enough alone to own a Mac. I am just now trying out the blogging bundle and it is really quite awesome. One of the biggest barriers to more frequent blogging, at least for me, is the PITA that it is to open a browser, go to the admin interface of one of [...]
Help me if I ever get Dugg. For the past 5 years this site has been running on the same server. The server hardware has changed very little, the OS has gone from Windows 2000 Server to Windows XP to Ubuntu Linux. The hardware specs are kind of humorous:

1GB 133mhz SDRAM
250GB of mirrored [...]
It has only taken 5 years of on again off again posting to this blog for it to reach its 10,000 visitor. Thanks to both readers for visiting 5000 times each! It even looks like the 10000th visitor was my brother (based on the SiteMeter logs at least).
I am playing around with a new way of posting to my blog, it is Tumblr. You can find my Tumbler here. RSS is supported so you can subscribe to the feed also.

Thank goodness for backups! I took the opportunity (if you can call it that) of my primary hard drive crashing to go ahead and abandon Windows in favor of Linux, Ubuntu to be exact. I have been using it on my work laptop and love it so it seemed natural to put it on my [...]
My brother too has a blog. He was even interviewed by another blog author. Check it out, especially if you are at all interested in the world of trading stocks for a living. Reading his blog, in spite of my being a rather profound ignoramus when it comes to trading stocks, I find myself drawn [...]
I am playing around with Google’s build your own search feature. It is pretty cool. I am going to stick the search over on the sidebar and keep refining it.
Mine is a Birds, Birding, etc… search. Try it out:
