Catching Up…

Ok, some dude that claims he will change everything won the election. I so totally believe him. Of course he will change everything… moving on.

I got laid off and am unemployed looking to become underemployed so I can make some money but still spend lots of time with my kids.

Getting laid off has gotten me re-excited about programming and learning more about programming.

My family and I, finally (see previous post about Hurricanes; Florida; Vacation and) went on Vacation to see my parents. It was awesome. Besides my parents, the thing that I miss most about Florida is fishing.

I am thinking of going the freelance route rather than take another full-time gig working for the man. Goal is for my wife and I to each work 25-30 hours. Biggest obstacle, health insurance. I sure hope this new guy that promises all of this change can at least do something about the insanity of the health care system in this country.

I got laid off after 34 years with one company. Middle to Senior management involuntary, at least one from the executive suite voluntarily.

Hours are fine, but the pay isn’t. Medical isn’t a problem for me, it comes with my retirement package. However my best friend at work, who got axed just after I did, like minutes, doesn’t qualify for medical and he has kids. So I’m paying $210/month and he is paying over $1000.

I’m going freelance and bringing my programing skills back on line.

You might look to the census beaurau for temporary and part time work. 1-866-861-2010
