Ergonomic Office Chairs

Boy they sure are expensive! It looks like it will cost me somewhere in the neighborhood of $800-1200 to get a highly rated ergonomic office chair. I have never sat on an ergonomic office chair so I have no idea what to expect from one, but for that amount of money my expectations are high. It is clear that I am going to need to find a local brick and mortar store so that I can at least try these things out before dumping that kind of money. I found a nice bits and bytes store, Office Solutions. It looks like if I order from them it will cost me $75 if I decide I do not like the chair. I am leaning towards the Steelcase Leap. it is $800. I really wanted leather, but it is not worth the extra $450!

Even if I buy one of these chairs and it helps, I still have to figure out how to convince my employer to buy me one so that the 2 days per week that I am at the office I am not suffering and/or countering the benefits I get out of my good chair on the other days. Somehow I do not think that a struggling startup is going to fork over $800+ for a chair for someone that only comes in 2 days a week.
