This is just too cool. NPR decided to ask Sufjan Stevens to write a song about Brinkley, Arkansas. They figured that since he has already written two entire albums one about Michigan and the other Illinois that he would be up for the task. Now this in itself is cool enough, but even cooler is that Brinkley Arkansas is the center of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker story. The new song is appropiately titled Lord God Bird. Look for it on NPRs website on or after July 6th. More details can be found at pitchfork‘s site.
